Art and Culture plays an important role in the development of any nation. As our country has a very rich cultural heritage, encompassing various art forms and folklore from ancient to contemporary times, folk and traditional arts, we have the responsibility to preserve, explore and spread them among the students. Art and Culture represents a set of shared attitudes, values, goals and practices.Culture and creativity manifest themselves in almost all economic, social and other activities.

India has a very ancient treasure of art and cultural heritage. There are various art forms such as cave art, Indus Valley Civilization art, Ajanta, Ellora, Elephanta, folk and traditional arts such as Madhubani, Warli, Gond, Tanjore, etc., as well as miniature paintings of Mughal, Deccan, Rajasthani and Pahari schools. India’s artistic traditions are ancient and deeply rooted in religion as well.While at various times in her long history, foreign races and cultures exercised some influence on Indian art forms, the main aesthetic currents remained predominantly Indian.

Through various forms of art education, such as Drawing, Painting, Graphics (Printmaking), Sculpture,Mural, Design and Pottery, we empower students to develop their skills and pursue careers in the field of Visual Arts, as well as to understand our cultural values.

We have to plan for a well-equipped Art/Painting Studio for the development of students and to encourage them to develop their creative skills and aesthetic values in an artistic atmosphere.We also have to plan art workshops and demonstrations by eminent artists and skilled persons to motivate students, enhance their creative skills and help them become skilled in the field of Art Education as well as responsible citizens of our society.

There are numerous career opportunities and employment prospects available today in various fields of Art. We can prepare our students to pursue various career paths in the field of Visual Arts and develop their creative potential.
